Yahoo – Bing merger is in effect…. what that means for a paid advertiser –

Yahoo & Bing now have a combined audience making it much more attractive ad option and more competitive against Google. You will only need one account, one budget to participate in paid per performance across both search engines.

Yahoo’s ad platform is migrating to Adcenter. If you have never had a paid campaign with Bing, it is time to learn. If you are a paid advertiser only on Bing, your PPC ads will now show on Yahoo search result as well.

Tips for setting up your paid search advertising campaigns on MSN Adcenter.

TIP:  Minimum Bid is .05 cent. However current accounts will want to closely monitor their accounts for fluctuations as the Yahoo paid accounts are merged in to Ad Center.

TIP: Devote time each week for the next few months to monitor your bids, CTR, Impressions, Keyword Performance, Editing & Phasing out underperforming text ads. Time consuming but necessary. Or outsource these weekly marketing chores to a Small Business Virtual Assistant that understands PPC and AdCenter ( a blatant self-promotion here!)

TIP: Some nifty tools in the Adcenter interface include Dynamic Text Ads, Bid Boosting on Demo, Daypart ,Sex and the Ad Preview Tool so you can see whether your ads appear in the Bing search results for a particular keyword, without actually going directly into the search engine.  These searches do not count against your daily impressions served and avoid any accidental click-thru charges. And don’t we always want to see verification our ads are live and top of page.

TIP- Finally if you don’t have a free Local Listing on BING – get one now. iWant To Advertise Bing Local Listing http://bit.ly/b03Etq
